Junior Engineer, Cost

Role Overview

We are looking for a Junior Cost Engineer with considerable expertise in the oil and gas sector. The candidate should have at least five years of industry experience focusing on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. The primary responsibility is overseeing procurement efforts, ensuring that equipment and materials are delivered punctually in accordance with project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Compare actual expenditure with project budgets and monitor costs.
• Generate weekly and monthly reports on costs.
• Maintain tracking of purchase orders, invoices, financial commitments, and accruals.
• Support preparation of cost forecasts and manage cash flow updates.
• Detect and communicate any discrepancies in costs.
• Keep comprehensive records related to costs and changes.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and finance departments to ensure smooth project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years in procurement and expediting within oil and gas, preferably with EPC contractors or operational companies.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience specifically in EPC roles is mandatory.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel for data handling and analysis.
• Strong analytical capabilities complemented by excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Well-versed in vendor management practices.
• Familiarity with ERP software such as SAP or Oracle, along with full proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective negotiation skills and ability to produce clear reports and communicate effectively.
