Job Overview
The Warehouse Assistant plays a vital role in managing the flow of stock and materials within the warehouse. This involves receiving shipments, processing inventory, efficiently picking and packing orders, as well as ensuring timely shipment and order fulfilment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the receiving and unloading of stock shipments, counting and storing inventory accurately within the warehouse space.
- Open and inspect boxes, crates, and other packaging containers to verify content condition and correctness.
- Ensure that customer orders are handled promptly, meeting both customer expectations and the company's timelines.
- Select items precisely according to order documentation.
- Examine items for damage or defects, making adjustments to inventory as required.
- Package products following established packing procedures.
- Use the inventory management system to ship and complete customer orders, entering tracking details and shipping links appropriately.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by organizing shelves, workspace, and inventory areas; performing sweeping and vacuuming tasks as necessary.
- Keep the warehouse orderly at all times and utilize correct safety gear consistently.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance warehouse operations and suggest productivity improvements.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth warehouse functioning.
- Adhere strictly to internal delivery and stock handling protocols.
- Implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence of stock or process issues.
- Monitor stock accuracy by comparing physical inventory against system records, ensuring all stock movement is properly logged.
- Demonstrate resilience, assertiveness, a positive outlook, and adaptability to change.
Educational and Experience Requirements
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar warehouse or inventory role.
