Job Overview

This role entails overseeing and orchestrating end-to-end testing strategies for sophisticated enterprise-level applications, concentrating on WebServices and API testing. Utilizing tools like Postman and SoapUI, the objective is to guarantee high-quality releases that underpin dependable billing and revenue processes within an office-based setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and drive comprehensive testing strategies and plans for complex API and WebServices projects, assuring thorough coverage of functional, integration, and regression tests for enterprise systems.
• Manage complete test execution cycles for REST APIs and backend services, aligning testing activities with sprint objectives, release timelines, and overall project schedules in a structured on-premise environment.
• Create detailed and reusable test cases and suites targeting API functionality using Postman and SoapUI, emphasizing validation of requests, responses, payload formats, and error handling to enhance reliability.
• Conduct both manual and automated testing of REST API endpoints, tracking performance metrics like response times and throughput to detect early defects or bottlenecks.
• Verify data integrity and adherence to business rules by constructing complex SQL queries for backend database validation, ensuring transactional and downstream accuracy.
• Collaborate with development, architecture, and business analysis teams during requirements grooming sessions to clarify service contracts, interface details, and acceptance criteria for all WebServices involved.
• Examine technical specifications and API documentation to define test scenarios covering edge cases, security, and data validation, minimizing production bugs and increasing customer satisfaction.
• Oversee defect lifecycle management from identification to resolution, ensuring accurate root cause analysis, prioritization based on impact, and timely closure in coordination with engineering and product teams.
• Track and communicate key quality indicators such as defect density, test coverage, and execution progress for transparent reporting and release decision support.
• Develop and promote reusable testing frameworks and standards tailored to WebServices and API testing to maintain consistent practices across projects.
• Mentor junior testing staff on best practices in API testing, SQL validation, and tool usage including Postman and SoapUI to foster a quality-centered team culture.
• Coordinate with environment and configuration managers to ensure stable testing platforms, controlled datasets, and correct versioning of services under test.
• Support ongoing process improvement by analyzing defect trends, identifying gaps, and suggesting practical enhancements to boost testing efficiency and precision.
• Provide domain-specific validation for Billing and Revenue Management systems, thoroughly verifying charging, rating, invoicing, and revenue recognition processes.

Required Qualifications

• Expertise in WebServices and API testing, including hands-on validation of REST APIs’ response codes and payload structures using established industry tools.
• Advanced SQL abilities for performing complex data joins, aggregations, and validations across multiple tables supporting transactional integrity and reporting.
• Proficient use of Postman for designing collections, parameterized requests, and environment setups to facilitate repeatable and collaborative API test runs.
• Experience with SoapUI to validate both SOAP and REST web services via creation of detailed test suites, assertions, and data-driven tests aligned with business workflows.
• Working knowledge of Billing and Revenue Management processes to effectively validate critical billing cycles and revenue accounting streams.
• Demonstrated experience managing testing activities for 14 to 16 years in complex enterprise environments, ensuring compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
• Strong communication skills to produce clear documentation such as test plans, execution reports, and defect summaries that facilitate stakeholder decision-making.
• Ability to operate effectively in an office-based day shift environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to swiftly resolve issues without travel requirements.
• Understanding of secure coding principles and service level objectives to design comprehensive test coverage ensuring resilient and reliable services.
• Structured problem-solving skills to diagnose environment issues, intermittent failures, and data inconsistencies for timely corrective measures.
• Engagement with product owners and business stakeholders to refine acceptance criteria ensuring test results reflect realistic usage and service dependencies.

Certification

Possession of ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification or an equivalent credential related to test management and API testing is required.
