Senior MES Engineer - Syncade

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior MES Recipe Author to lead the implementation of System/MES recipe changes and manage daily support issues related to Electronic Batch Records, Weigh and Dispense, and Equipment Management modules using the Emerson Syncade MES platform. This role supports a large multinational biotech manufacturing site in Cork and requires working closely within the MES team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve incident tickets promptly via ServiceNow.
• Initiate and execute Change Control processes aligned with quality standards and regulatory practices.
• Investigate and troubleshoot problems, recommending solutions or improvements where necessary.
• Develop high-quality, well-documented MES configurations for maintainability.
• Prioritize support tasks in line with project timelines and conduct testing of new or modified MES recipes.
• Produce computer system validation documentation per site procedures and GMP regulations.
• Adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety protocols and support incident investigations when required.
• Maintain strict integrity and quality control mindset due to pharmaceutical production requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and business users to align system changes with user needs.
• Adapt to evolving role demands including future out-of-hours support responsibilities.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 3-5 years supporting IT applications, including incident management, troubleshooting, change control, and testing.
• Experience with MES recipe authoring and configuration management within GMP-regulated environments is highly preferred.
• Programming skills, especially Visual Basic, with expertise in configuration management and code deployment.
• Familiarity with MS SQL Server considered an advantage.
• Strong communication abilities both oral and written, with demonstrated capability to liaise across teams.
• A proactive, highly motivated individual skilled at delivering projects and working collaboratively with multiple business and functional groups.

Work Model

• This is an on-site role based at the client site in Cork, requiring presence approximately 3 days per week.
