Senior Estimation Engineer

Gardinia Contracting, the integrated construction division of Azizi Developments, leads some of Dubai's landmark real estate projects including Burj Azizi, set to be the world's second tallest tower, and the vast Azizi Venice master community in Dubai South. We oversee every phase from civil and MEP works to interior fit-outs, landscaping, and pools by leveraging a hands-on, quality-focused approach. Role Summary

The Senior Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing precise and competitive cost estimates and budgets for large-scale construction projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in submission.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Examine architectural, structural, MEP, and other project drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Create and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) across various construction disciplines.
• Generate detailed cost estimates factoring quantities, materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor expenses, and project specifications.
• Develop unit rate calculations and conduct rate analyses for materials, labor, plant, and subcontract work.
• Request and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to evaluate commercial bids.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure clarity in scope and pricing.
• Identify and address inconsistencies, omissions, exclusions, and possible cost risks within tender documents.
• Compile tender summaries and comparative cost statements for executive review.
• Integrate approved supplier quotations and prevailing market rates into project costings.
• Prepare preliminary budgets, cost plans, and feasibility estimates for projects.
• Analyze drawings for design amendments or scope changes influencing project budgets.
• Maintain and update cost databases, historical pricing, supplier quotes, and standard benchmark rates.
• Collaborate with Design, Planning, Procurement, Operations, and Commercial teams throughout the estimation process.
• Support value engineering efforts and development of cost-saving alternatives.
• Ensure all cost estimates are accurately prepared and submitted within deadlines.
• Maintain comprehensive records of tender documents, quotations, assumptions, exclusions, and calculation methodologies.
• Perform any additional duties related to estimation and cost control assigned by management.
• Additional expertise in site experience and labor productivity costing is beneficial.
• Proficient use of Candy software for estimation purposes is essential.
• Skillful identification of potential cost-related risks, scope alterations, and other factors affecting pricing.
• Strong theoretical knowledge and excellent communication capabilities required.
• In-depth understanding of MEP systems is necessary for MEP-related work.

Qualification and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in estimation roles within construction.
• Proficiency in Candy software is mandatory.
• Capability to interpret and analyze technical documentation effectively.
