About the Role
Help at Home is actively seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within their homes and communities in Cruger, MS. This position offers a meaningful career opportunity with a respected nationwide provider focused on in-home support for seniors and people with disabilities. The hourly pay ranges between $13 and $15 depending on the care provided, with weekly payments available.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, personal hygiene, grooming, and transportation needs.
- Motivate and facilitate participation in social and community engagements including shopping and social gatherings.
- Support individuals in working toward their personal growth objectives and celebrate their achievements.
- Encourage independence, choice-making, and self-advocacy skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, client progress, and communicate effectively with team members to deliver consistent quality support.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
- Complete successful background screening and required training.
- Hold a valid driver's license with reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
- Demonstrate ability to work safely and respectfully within client homes and communities.
- Exhibit compassion, dependability, and a desire to positively impact others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism, including familiarity with Individual Activity Support Plans (ASP) and Plans of Service and Supports (PSS).
- Knowledge of behavioral support techniques such as redirection, visual prompts, and environmental modifications.
