Architect

Role Objective

This role involves creating and implementing architectural designs for various projects including new retail outlets, expansions, renovations, and adaptive reuse across the company’s properties. The Architect ensures that all designs are functional, visually appealing, compliant with regulations, budget-conscious, and aligned with brand guidelines, facilitating smooth construction integration.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and present conceptual as well as detailed architectural proposals including layout plans and feasibility analyses.
• Work closely with brand teams and other stakeholders to convert functional needs into practical architectural solutions.
• Use design software such as AutoCAD and Revit to produce 2D and 3D designs, renderings, and architectural drawings.
• Coordinate architectural efforts with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), structural, and interior design teams for seamless project output.
• Prepare and submit necessary documentation like planning applications, tender packages, and construction drawings ensuring adherence to regulations and company standards.
• Maintain thorough documentation of specifications, materials, and finishes consistent with brand requirements.
• Oversee project budgets, ensuring designs are cost-efficient and timelines are respected without reducing quality.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety, accessibility, and environmental guidelines.
• Identify potential design risks and implement mitigation strategies during design and construction.
• Perform regular site inspections to confirm construction is in line with design intent and resolve issues as they arise.
• Assist project managers and contractors in interpreting architectural drawings and resolving on-site challenges.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material samples for consistency with design standards.
• Communicate design goals with brand representatives, project leads, and vendors and secure approvals from senior management.
• Participate in value engineering sessions to optimize design efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Contribute to post-project evaluations to improve future design processes and outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution; professional certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive architectural design experience, ideally focused on retail, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, retail layout planning, construction methods, and local regulations.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant architectural software.
