Key Responsibilities
- Perform various assembly tasks manually or using light hand tools to manufacture semi-finished and finished products, including packing when integrated with production lines.
- Regularly conduct quality checks as part of a structured production process and adhere to standardized operating procedures maintaining workspace cleanliness.
- Demonstrate proficiency across at least two work centers within the Winding Department within 18 months.
- Read and interpret technical instructions, prints, factory orders, and documentation in English, both verbal and written.
- Use measuring tools accurately and apply basic math skills for fractional measurements.
- Work safely following lock out/tag out and other safety protocols in an industrial manufacturing setting, including shift work as needed.
Work Centers in Winding Department
Possible areas of specialization include Insulation, Coil Wind, Small and Large Hand Wind, Automatic Stator Wind, Final Form/Trim/Sleeve, Connect, Braze, Lash, Surge Test, Repair, Material Mover, and Upender.
Additional Duties
- Comply with ABB policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness through housekeeping tasks as necessary.
- Share knowledge and provide training support to colleagues.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs close to the body and 35 lbs away from the body 60% of the time; assisted lifting over 50 lbs about 40% of the time.
- Use company-mandated personal protective equipment and possess corrected vision sufficient to read instructions, prints, and gauges.
- Perform repetitive physical activities including bending, stooping, twisting, and standing for long periods within a factory environment subject to noise, temperature variations, and allergens.
Education and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Basic computer literacy as defined by the company.
- English proficiency to understand instructions and communicate effectively.
