Role Overview

Reporting directly to the R&D Lab Team Lead, this position is stationed at our R&D Centre of Excellence in Napier. You'll engage in impactful work shaping the future of energy through projects involving products such as Power Protection (UPS), Battery Energy Storage, and Static Frequency Converters ranging from 300kW to 3600kW. Our team has been recognized for innovation and export excellence, reflecting our global footprint and commitment.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish product testing criteria and execute electrical/electronic tests, including high-power system evaluations.
• Design and build hardware test rigs for prototypes, maintaining strict adherence to safety guidelines.
• Implement reliability engineering methods and ensure compliance with international standards such as CE and UL for product testing.
• Develop automated testing procedures and deliver detailed, high-quality documentation to aid product development.

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or an equivalent certification such as industrial electrician, technician diploma, or trade certification.
• Hands-on experience with three-phase electrical systems.
• Familiarity with products like UPS units, energy storage solutions, variable speed drives, or programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Understanding of international safety standards (CE and UL) and reliability engineering principles.
• Strong analytical and debugging capabilities within laboratory settings.
• Proficient in using electrical and electronic test instruments and preparing comprehensive test reports.
• Innovative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to continuous improvement.
