Overview
USIC, a leader in underground utility damage prevention and advanced infrastructure services, invites motivated individuals to join as Utility Locators based in Bellevue, WA. With over 84 million locates annually, USIC supports telecommunications, electric, gas, water, and sewer utilities nationwide, committed to safety, quality, and innovative solutions.
Role Responsibilities
- Locate underground utilities such as telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems with accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
- Diligently survey assigned areas, clearly marking utility locations, completing documentation, and capturing photographic records.
This full-time role primarily involves fieldwork during daytime hours with a 48-hour turnaround requirement for many locates. Working day after holidays and select weekends is expected. Willingness to work overtime, weekend, and on-call shifts, including nights and weekends, is necessary depending on business needs.
Candidate Profile
- Comfortable working outdoors in diverse weather conditions; outdoor experience is advantageous.
- Technologically proficient to operate required equipment and systems.
- Capable of reading and interpreting locate tickets, maps, and prints accurately.
- Physical capability to walk, bend, lift up to 75 lbs, and work in confined areas.
- Ability to distinguish wiring colors used in marking underground utilities.
- Possesses clear communication skills for interaction with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
- Holds a valid driver’s license and maintains a safe driving record.
- Passes drug screening as per safety-sensitive position requirements.
