Purpose
The Tank Superintendent oversees all contractor activities within the tank construction segment, ensuring that tasks adhere to the project timeline, specifications, and are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate construction contractors engaged in tank construction to optimize productivity and ensure adherence to schedules.
- Provide daily updates to the Construction Manager and Project Management team.
- Ensure contractor work complies fully with Project Execution and HSE Management Plans.
- Supervise the execution of assigned tank construction tasks on-site.
- Assist with detailed planning and daily guidance of field activities.
- Review resource forecasts to guarantee timely availability of materials, equipment, and labor.
- Monitor and report potential costs and trends affecting construction activities to management.
- Align contractors’ schedules, methods, and resource requirements effectively.
- Track any scope changes affecting timeline, costs, or project scope.
- Collaborate with field planners to ensure execution plans are practical, achievable, and sufficiently resourced.
- Facilitate effective communication among various project stakeholders.
- Maintain ongoing liaison with the Construction Manager regarding field activities and convey any issues impacting work performance.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors.
- Ensure adherence to contract policies, procedures, and terms.
Technical and Industry Expertise
- Well versed in construction practices related to erection and testing of field-erected tanks and structural steel.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency to reliably deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality construction outputs.
- Possess 10 to 15 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong background in implementing safety measures with proven track record of successful safety outcomes.
- Experienced in quality assurance with consistent quality performance.
