Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote a safety-first culture throughout all project phases, encouraging proactive safety behaviors and engagement.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve project management challenges during early work and FEED phases to ensure smooth progress.
  • Address and solve engineering issues related to electrical disciplines within the project scope.
  • Represent and act with authority on behalf of the Owner in interactions and coordination with EPC/FEED contractors.
  • Review and approve key electrical engineering deliverables from contractors within designated timelines, ensuring adherence to design criteria through detailed examination of calculations, specifications, and system components.
  • Participate in regular meetings at contractor engineering and construction site offices to monitor progress of engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Evaluate and approve critical deliverables from contractors, vendors, manufacturers, and subcontractors, incorporating stakeholder feedback as needed.
  • Engage in technical meetings involving the Owner, Licensor, Contractors, and Vendors to discuss project details and requirements.
  • Attend important technical sessions such as Design Reviews, 3D Model Reviews, Constructability analyses, SIL, EIA, HAZOP, and HAZID meetings organized by the contractor.
  • Ensure EPC/FEED contractor maintains and implements project quality assurance procedures.
  • Oversee accuracy and quality of the contractor's engineering design, system integration, and design choices.
  • Manage the review and approval processes of contractor work, confirming alignment with Owner and Project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate engineering involvement in development and evaluation of multiple design options and business models for optimization and validation.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination among engineers in layout and design reviews and technical workshops.
  • Provide technical support and collaboration across engineering disciplines.
  • Lead audit activities of EPC/FEED contractors to ensure implementation of recommended improvements.
  • Manage interface coordination among EPC/FEED contractors, Owner, and external third parties.
  • Oversee technical evaluations during vendor prequalification, bidding processes, and performance assessments.
  • Conduct review and detailed technical analysis of technical bid submissions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • At least fifteen years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors, including a preferred minimum of five years working within the GCC region.
  • Minimum of five years in a similar leadership role managing teams of specialists, senior engineers, and engineers on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • Direct experience on ADNOC projects is required.
  • Experience with offshore projects is essential.
  • Demonstrated background in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) roles.
  • Prior involvement in FEED and EPC project phases is mandatory.
