Role Overview

The Electrical Designer position, located full-time onsite in Dammam, involves designing and coordinating electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure projects. Key duties include creating detailed electrical drawings and layouts, preparing single-line diagrams, conducting load calculations, and developing panel schedules. Ensuring compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards is essential. Collaborative work with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers integrates electrical systems with other disciplines. Responsibilities also encompass reviewing shop drawings and material submissions, assisting with technical problem resolution during construction, supporting value engineering efforts, participating in design reviews, and producing precise documentation for tenders and project execution.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Solid grounding in Electrical Engineering fundamentals, including electricity and electrical design principles.
• Experience in power distribution systems, encompassing both low- and medium-voltage networks and their protection schemes.
• Familiarity with power system analysis such as load flow studies, short-circuit analyses, and system reliability evaluation.
• Competence with design software and CAD applications like AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalents.
• Understanding of international and regional electrical standards including IEC, NEC, and Saudi standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong skills in technical documentation with meticulous attention to accuracy in drawings and calculations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams while managing numerous deadlines and tasks.
• Prior experience in consultancy or construction settings within Saudi Arabia or the Gulf is desirable.
• Professional certifications or ongoing learning in electrical design/engineering will be an advantage.
