About the Role

Join the Buildings team in Riyadh as a Senior Electrical Engineer contributing to sophisticated, high-profile projects through integrated and sustainable building services design. Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and coordination of electrical building services across new-build, refurbishment, and mixed-use developments.
• Develop coordinated electrical solutions at all project phases from concept to construction support.
• Design and specify low-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection, standby power, UPS, and ELV/ICT interfaces where relevant.
• Prepare and review electrical calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, schedules, and documentation.
• Ensure integration of electrical systems with architectural design, building fabric, and MEP strategies to promote energy efficiency and performance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, public health, sustainability, and specialist consultants for fully integrated designs.
• Apply Saudi Arabian, regional, and international codes and standards throughout design processes.
• Support energy-conscious decisions including alternative systems evaluation and lifecycle considerations.
• Lead technical reviews, quality assurance, and design risk management for electrical deliverables.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers providing technical guidance and daily support.
• Represent electrical design intent and solutions in client, design-team, and site meetings.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and technical queries during construction stages.
• Support project planning, resource coordination, schedule management, and commercial delivery within scope and budget.
• Contribute to enhancing the firm’s technical standards, design culture, and knowledge-sharing practices.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive post-graduate experience in electrical building services engineering within multidisciplinary consultancy settings.
• Proven track record designing electrical systems for complex buildings such as commercial, hospitality, residential, cultural, healthcare, education, aviation, transport, or mixed-use developments.
• Strong expertise in electrical power systems, lighting, emergency systems, standby generation, UPS, earthing, lightning protection, and ELV interfacing.
• Experience coordinating MEP services within architect-led multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to Saudi Arabia and broader Middle East.
• Proficiency with design and analysis software including Revit, AutoCAD, electrical calculation tools, and BIM coordination platforms.
• Skilled in preparing technical specifications, reports, calculations, drawings, and tender documents.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities for liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and authorities.
• Ability to prioritize, work independently, and collaborate effectively within teams.
• Professional membership or pursuit of chartership with recognized engineering institutions is advantageous.
