Role Overview

As a Solutions Architect within GitLab's MENA team, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to prospective and existing clients. Your responsibility will be to demonstrate how GitLab's DevSecOps platform aligns with both their technical requirements and business goals across the entire software development lifecycle. Working closely with a regional manager, account executives, and cross-functional teams, you will lead technical evaluations, shape solution strategies, and relay customer insights to GitLab's Product Management. The role emphasizes driving platform adoption, contributing to revenue growth through solution selling, and nurturing long-term customer relationships in an AI-driven DevSecOps environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical discovery sessions, demonstrations, and validations showcasing GitLab's AI-enhanced DevSecOps capabilities tailored to customer needs.
• Lead technical evaluation processes including designing solutions, managing proofs of concept or value, and organizing workshops or value stream analyses.
• Collaborate with account executives and MENA sales teams to formulate and implement strategies for acquiring new clients and expanding existing accounts.
• Establish and deepen trust-based relationships with both technical stakeholders and business leaders, guiding them through GitLab-led transformations and converting them into platform advocates.
• Provide expert advice on modern software development, continuous integration/deployment, security practices, and cloud technologies to improve clients' return on investment.
• Communicate customer feedback and market insights to Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to influence product roadmap and positioning.
• Maintain and grow technical expertise in GitLab's platform, DevSecOps methodologies, AI integrations, and cloud solutions by developing reusable resources and best practices.
• Invest in professional growth through continuous learning, mentoring, and sharing knowledge to strengthen the Solutions Architect team’s effectiveness.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum five years of experience in technical pre-sales, consulting, or related roles interacting with clients to guide solution design and evaluation.
• Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle, emphasizing modern DevSecOps and CI/CD workflows.
• Hands-on familiarity with GitLab or similar source control, CI/CD, and team collaboration tools, capable of aligning platform features with customer cases.
• Strong grasp of cloud computing concepts and practical knowledge to discuss deployment, security, and operational options with technical teams.
• Experience in leading technical assessments such as proofs of concept/value, responding to tenders or audits, and leading workshops or evaluations.
• Excellent communication capabilities for engaging technical professionals as well as senior business and technical decision-makers.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships, demonstrate empathy, and act as a customer advocate within internal teams including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development by learning new technologies and deepening GitLab platform expertise.

About the Team

The Solutions Architect team is embedded within GitLab’s Sales organization, supporting Account Executives across MENA. This group's aim is to help clients fully leverage GitLab's AI-driven DevSecOps platform through expert advising, conducting technical evaluations, and steering digital transformation. The team collaborates extensively with other departments while sharing knowledge and customer insights, focusing on modernization of software delivery and navigating the rapidly evolving AI and DevSecOps landscape.
