Role Overview

This fully remote position is available in Canada and the United States. As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at GitLab, you will be part of the expanding Revenue Marketing team. Your primary responsibility is leading outbound efforts to engage with target accounts alongside Field and Digital Marketing teams. Employing creative marketing and sales strategies, you'll connect with various buyer personas to showcase GitLab’s value proposition. Your main goal is to generate qualified meetings and build a robust sales pipeline for the Sales organization.

GitLab provides a comprehensive onboarding and training process to equip you with necessary knowledge about DevOps and GitLab products to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound lead flow efficiently.
  • Engage in high-level discovery conversations within target accounts.
  • Meet or surpass targets for Sales Accepted Opportunities (SAO) generated.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop targeted account lists, call strategies, and messaging to generate opportunities.
  • Conduct research using business and industry insights to identify key players, spark interest, create compelling events, and nurture accounts.
  • Apply a multi-channel approach including calls, emails, and social outreach to engage all leads in assigned territories via Outreach.io.
  • Track, manage, and report all sales activities and results using Salesforce.
  • Document and update processes in the GitLab handbook jointly with the Sales Development Manager.
  • Mentor new SDR hires, assisting them in managing their key accounts.

Candidate Profile

  • Excellent phone communication skills, attentive listening, and strong writing abilities.
  • Self-motivated individual with a proven track record of credible accomplishments.
  • Alignment with GitLab’s core values and conduct principles.
  • Understanding of business processes, organizational roles, and structures.
  • Determined personality with a strong ambition for growth and success.
  • Genuine enthusiasm to contribute to GitLab’s evolving journey.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.
  • Experience in tech industry, sales development, marketing, or sales is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Motivation to grow professionally supported by industry-leading onboarding and opportunities for career advancement, including eligibility for outbound roles after a successful 12 months as an SDR.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required as it is the company’s official language globally.

Salary (U.S. residents only): The base salary range for this level is between $53,000 and $75,000 USD annually, excluding bonuses, equity, and benefits. Sales positions also qualify for incentive pay, potentially up to 100% of the base salary.
