Our teams embrace AI-driven productivity and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Join us to help transform software development globally.
Role Summary
As a Demo Architect for the EMEA region, you will drive the enhancement and maintenance of tools, environments, and infrastructure that enable GitLab’s sales field teams and customers to experience our platform frictionlessly through demos, workshops, and trials. Reporting to the Senior Director of Solutions Architecture, you will blend software engineering, infrastructure management, and customer collaboration to ensure practical, scalable, and automated solutions support our go-to-market efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain software tools, applications, and workflows that facilitate demos, workshops, trials, and internal testing.
- Augment the Demo Architect Portal to promote automation, self-service capabilities, and scalability for internal teams and partners.
- Provision and maintain infrastructure for hands-on customer engagements on GitLab.com and demo instances.
- Work cross-functionally with Solutions Architects, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Engineering teams to understand requirements and build practical solutions.
- Document and automate sales workflows, removing inefficiencies in demo and trial processes.
- Create technical content and workshop materials to support pre-sales technical enablement.
- Provide expertise for technical demo needs requiring specialized custom solutions.
- Enhance presenter experience by streamlining demo setups and ensuring repeatable, user-friendly workflows.
- Support and maintain availability of internal demo and testing environments.
- Respond promptly to urgent issues affecting demo environments, communicating updates clearly to stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience developing production-level software or internal tools that serve technical users or business teams.
- Strong emphasis on creating reliable, maintainable software with thorough documentation.
- Proficiency with both application development and infrastructure automation, including service provisioning.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with diverse teams including technical and non-technical roles in Sales, Architecture, Customer Success, Marketing, UX, and Engineering.
- Focus on designing user-centric solutions that prioritize usability, repeatability, and alignment with field team workflows.
- Able to work autonomously in a fully remote, asynchronous environment, with occasional travel for team events and planning sessions.
- Interest or prior exposure to technical sales enablement such as demos, workshops, and trials; background in software engineering, site reliability, systems engineering, or solutions architecture is advantageous.
About the Team
The Demo Architect team is a small, globally distributed group dedicated to supporting GitLab’s sales engagement by maintaining shared tools and demo infrastructure. The team is agile, adapts to evolving demands, and focuses on increased automation, self-service, partner enablement, and infrastructure reliability.

- Access to Team Member Resource Groups for community and support.
- Equity compensation including Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
