We are looking for talented Software Engineers to join our Dynamic Tables team in Berlin, Germany. This position involves developing the next-generation data platform that allows customers to transform data using declarative SQL while managing cost, latency, and throughput. You will solve complex database challenges alongside experienced engineers and expand your skills and impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a skilled, globally distributed team of engineers and product managers to develop new Dynamic Tables functionalities.
• Design, build, maintain, and enhance features and system performance.
• Influence technical and product strategy alongside senior colleagues.
• Dissect ambiguous problems, assess tradeoffs, and make well-informed technical and product decisions.
• Address performance, reliability, and fault tolerance issues on a large scale.
• Investigate unfamiliar system areas to identify and fix root causes of issues.
• Ensure solutions are operationally reliable, meeting customer expectations for availability and performance.
• Use customer insights on Dynamic Tables to guide development work.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience designing and building database internals or data-intensive systems, or equivalent research experience.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and solid computer science fundamentals, including expertise in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability to take an idea from concept to production-level software.
• Familiarity with AI-native software development workflows and agentic practices.
• Preference for collaborative team environments with opportunities to both teach and learn.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Excellent proficiency in English communication.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with query compilers, query optimizers, or database internals.
• Background in creating enterprise-grade, dependable software or services.
• Knowledge of large-scale distributed systems, transaction management, and consistency models.
• Contributions to open-source data infrastructure or database projects.
