Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop next-generation systems that ensure Java usage is safe, secure, and highly efficient.
• Deliver a consistent, high-performance Java platform that aids Snowflake engineers in deploying superior production solutions.
• Detect and resolve performance bottlenecks and availability problems, enhancing system robustness.
• Work collaboratively with teams across the globe to tackle significant, real-world challenges related to data infrastructure at scale.
• Proactively enhance the reliability and efficiency of Java infrastructure through monitoring and automation efforts.

Candidate Profile

• Experience with constructing, maintaining, and troubleshooting intricate Java systems.
• Strong understanding of Java fundamentals, including the JVM and core libraries.
• Solid grounding in computer science principles such as data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Motivated to deepen knowledge in JVM internals and performance optimization.
• Excellent teamwork skills and a commitment to shared objectives.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related experience; higher degrees are advantageous.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Experience with multithreading, concurrent programming, and caching mechanisms.
• Familiarity with database or Linux system internals.
• Prior involvement with large-scale, high-performance computing environments.
