Role Summary

As a Lead Developer Advocate, you will act as a pivotal link between Snowflake's engineering team and the global developer audience. Your mission is to craft impactful technical resources and guides that empower SQL developers, analytics engineers, and data professionals to excel with Snowflake’s technologies. Additionally, you will represent developer interests internally by conveying workflow challenges and emerging needs to shape product development and training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the advocacy strategy focusing on SQL development, analytics workflows, and the modern data stack, aligning with product goals and business metrics.
• Create diverse technical content such as tutorials, blogs, videos, workshops, code samples, and best practices documentation.
• Build and maintain practical, production-quality demos and reference implementations that highlight real-world uses of Snowflake in analytics, BI, data transformation, and app development.
• Enhance the developer enablement journey by creating onboarding paths, architecture blueprints, and live examples.
• Lead SQL and analytics workload enablement by building documentation and samples across areas like ELT/ETL, dbt, orchestration, semantic modeling, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to spot important use cases and refine developer workflows continuously.
• Represent Snowflake at various events including conferences and community gatherings across the EMEA region, delivering engaging presentations and demos.
• Participate actively in developer communities via platforms like GitHub, Slack, Discord, Reddit, and Stack Overflow to foster engagement and thought leadership.
• Gather and interpret developer feedback from multiple sources to inform product and engineering teams about pain points and opportunities.
• Drive cross-functional programs, workshops, and events to boost engagement and adoption, measuring impact and iterating accordingly.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in roles such as developer advocacy, technical evangelism, developer education, or solutions architecture with a track record of owning projects and influencing cross-department collaboration.
• Hands-on expertise with SQL and Python and familiarity with modern data workflows, including orchestration, APIs, BI tools, cloud data platforms, and analytics engineering practices.
• Comprehensive understanding of SQL-related workflows like data modeling, query optimization, semantic layers, governance, and dashboard consumption patterns.
• Proven ability to produce demos, prototypes, and examples for analytics, BI, and data application scenarios.
• Strong storytelling skills that enable the clear explanation of complex technical concepts to diverse technical audiences.
• Experience in community-building and a public portfolio of technical content such as talks, workshops, and open source contributions.
• Excellent collaboration skills with product managers, engineers, marketers, and sales teams, paired with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset in fast-changing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Snowflake technologies, dbt, Airflow, BI platforms, semantic layers, and adjacent cloud data ecosystems.
• Familiarity creating technical content for SQL developers and analytics engineers.
• Background in open source data tooling and leading developer communities or events.
• Previous roles as software engineer, data engineer, or solutions architect are an asset.
