Role Summary

We seek a motivated Software Developer to contribute new features to our Currency Data API and the underlying mid-market rate systems used by millions worldwide. The role primarily involves working with Java technologies in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment, employing modern open-source frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of customer-facing partner integrations and APIs.
• Architect and build the next generation of microservices.
• Stay current with best practices in systems architecture.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and closely monitored.
• Produce high-quality, well-tested code adhering to best practices.
• Work collaboratively with the product team to deliver appropriate solutions.
• Create automated unit and integration tests.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• Practical software development experience, ideally using Java or Kotlin.
• Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills with usage of standard design patterns.
• Experience working with the Spring Framework.
• Proficient in test-driven development methodologies.
• Designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Integrating with various third-party APIs.
• Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Knowledge of both NoSQL and SQL database systems.
• A proactive, can-do attitude with strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Python programming.
• Experience with Valkyrie or Redis for caching/storage.
• Hands-on AWS experience using services such as Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, and API Gateway.
• Competence with Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines (preference for GitHub Actions).
• Exposure to Vue.js or other front-end frameworks.
