Role Overview
As a Payments and Settlements Officer reporting to the Team Manager, you will be part of a global team dedicated to managing inbound and outbound payments for customers—both individuals and businesses—using multiple international payment channels. The position is focused on settling foreign exchange contracts promptly and processing payments aligned with strict timelines, banking deadlines, and service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate settlement of contracts due on the current value date.
- Manage funds across global bank accounts, authorizing and processing receipts and payments.
- Interface with internal teams locally and internationally (APAC, North America, UK), including Service Delivery, Compliance, and Global Operations, addressing inquiries on AML, sanctions, and FX contract matters.
- Directly communicate with clients via phone and email to resolve escalated account and payment issues.
- Investigate and rectify settlement or account discrepancies both internally and with external banking partners.
- Monitor task queues to ensure timely processing of transactions, meeting cut-off times and SLAs.
- Support Treasury Risk Management in trade negotiations and settlements with banking partners.
- Manage and reconcile MT300 confirmations within Mysis, flagging confirmation inconsistencies for Treasury Risk Management correction.
- Engage with banking counterparties to confirm option details and agree on premium payments.
Candidate Profile
- Experience within financial services or foreign exchange fields, particularly handling payment operations and cash flow understanding.
- Familiarity with global payment systems such as SWIFT, NPP, and ACH is favored but not mandatory.
- Excellent time management skills, capable of organizing and multitasking effectively.
- Strong numeric aptitude with keen attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Collaborative, friendly, and proactive team player with adaptability and a willingness to learn.
