Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Shift Leader to manage daily operations at our Ivanhoe, Victoria restaurant. This full-time, permanent role involves supervising team members, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining smooth restaurant functioning. The position operates on a rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, between 8:30 AM and 11:00 PM, ideal for candidates passionate about cooking and seeking to grow within the Casual Dining sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve food adhering closely to company standard operating procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of restaurant premises, equipment, and machinery.
- Oversee and coordinate crew activities during shifts to ensure efficient operations.
- Enforce compliance with all company policies, including health and safety standards.
- Deliver training and guidance to new and existing team members, encouraging a collaborative work culture.
- Monitor and assist with inventory control and stock management processes.
- Manage customer interactions with confidence, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly to uphold satisfaction.
- Compile and prepare shift reports detailing sales and operational metrics.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience in retail or hospitality environments.
- Preferred experience in casual dining or quick-service restaurant settings.
- Strong dedication to working 8–10 hour shifts, including mornings and evenings.
- Proactive approach to day-to-day operational challenges.
- Fluent English communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities for effective engagement with customers and staff.
- Basic knowledge of the Fast Food Industry Award.
- Fundamental understanding of inventory management with robust organizational skills.
- Commitment to completing a 6-month probationary period.
- Physical capability to stand for extended durations as required.
