Role Overview and Job Summary

The Senior Tape Out Engineer serves a pivotal function in the semiconductor product development lifecycle, acting as the final gatekeeper before integrated circuit designs proceed to fabrication. This role ensures that all physical and logical aspects of the design adhere to manufacturing prerequisites and high-quality standards, collaborating closely with diverse teams including design, program management, technologists, and manufacturing departments to troubleshoot and enhance the final outputs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and carry out the entire tape out process for semiconductor devices, guaranteeing prompt and precise transmission of design data to manufacturing units.
• Perform thorough validation of design fidelity by scrutinizing databases and documentation, rectifying any inconsistencies or errors found.
• Partner with multifunctional groups such as design engineers, technologists, project managers, and process engineers to address technical challenges and refine designs for better manufacturability.
• Assure that all submitted deliverables strictly comply with foundry specifications.
• Document all tape out protocols, changes, and results meticulously to facilitate continuous process enhancements and future audits.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Proven experience with physical design tools, for instance Cadence and Synopsys, alongside familiarity with semiconductor production workflows.
• Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to operate effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Flexibility to work varied hours to support critical tape out schedules.
• Proficiency in English to effectively communicate and collaborate with technical teams across different functions.
