Role Description
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Global Payroll team, you will be influential in evolving the comprehensive payroll platform responsible for configuration and payroll processing for thousands of employees. This role involves creating innovative product features from scratch and redesigning major platform components to enhance scalability. It offers significant autonomy and the chance to impact a vital product line.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with design and product management leaders to define and drive the team's vision, strategy, and implementation roadmap, balancing the priorities of both platform stability and product innovation.
- Develop scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions that align with the company’s growth trajectory.
- Mentor peers, promoting technical excellence and career development within the engineering team.
- Raise engineering standards by designing and deploying operational tools, monitoring systems, and processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Participate in on-call rotations for production system support and customer issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- At least six years of professional experience as a software engineer.
- Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end, successfully executing from product specifications through to release.
- Strong understanding of computer science principles and modern design patterns, enabling effective problem-solving and technical innovation.
- Experience overseeing the full software development lifecycle and launching complex features.
- A strong customer-centric mindset with the ability to integrate product needs into technical implementations.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at articulating complex technical concepts clearly and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with Python, Django, and React frameworks is advantageous.
