Role Overview
This position focuses on the intricate domain of equity compensation within an Employer of Record (EOR) context across international borders. You will translate complex global equity transactions into accurate, compliant payroll executions, collaborating with clients and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations. Prior equity experience isn't required but a solid foundation in multi-jurisdiction payroll and precise attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise international clients on operationalizing equity events, selecting appropriate earning codes, managing taxable amounts, and configuring off-cycle payroll runs.
- Process and validate stock option exercises and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) vestings across various countries to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Explain complex equity payroll outcomes to clients and employees, including imputed income concepts, why certain payouts may not be cash-based, and tax withholding calculations.
- Support country-specific equity-related filings in collaboration with filings specialists for jurisdictions such as the UK, Ireland, and Australia.
- Partner with Engineering teams to troubleshoot system issues, suggest workflow improvements, and promote automation of manual processes.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures, internal reference guides, and simplify cross-border equity rules for organizational clarity.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum five years of payroll experience, including tax compliance or handling non-cash income like benefits-in-kind or fringe benefits; familiarity with multi-country payroll is advantageous.
- Proficient in using case management software such as Salesforce and adept at analyzing complex datasets in Excel or Google Sheets with functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and logical formulas.
- Strong communication skills capable of distilling complex legal and tax information into clear, understandable guidance for clients.
- A technical mindset comfortable collaborating with engineering personnel to identify and resolve software defects and improve systems.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic tech environment with evolving processes.
Preferred but not required: Hands-on experience managing US or international stock options (NSOs) and RSUs.
