Job description

About Analog Devices

Analog Devices, Inc. is a global leader in semiconductors, integrating analog, digital, AI, and software technologies to innovate at the Intelligent Edge. Serving industries such as industrial automation, automotive, communications, healthcare, energy, and consumer electronics, ADI generated over $11 billion in fiscal 2025. The company strives to empower creators to push the boundaries of possibility.

Role Overview

The Senior Simulink Modeling Engineer will develop robust MATLAB and Simulink models for ADI products and reference systems. This role involves working closely with product, systems, applications, and software teams to create validated, reusable models for applications including robotics, sensing, motor control, audio, power, and communications. Additionally, the engineer will collaborate with MathWorks to enhance modeling tools and practices.

Key Duties

  • Lead creation and maintenance of scalable Simulink models and associated MATLAB code supporting ADI’s product lines and benchmarks.
  • Analyze and define clear model specifications by interpreting product requirements, datasheet behaviors, and system use cases in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Facilitate model integration into customer workflows, simulation systems, automated testing frameworks, and ADI’s development platforms.
  • Plan and conduct model verification and validation activities including test case design, model accuracy assessment, and traceability documentation.
  • Enhance model quality through optimization of simulation speed, numerical stability, code maintainability, and reusability.
  • Develop automated workflows encompassing version control, peer reviews, continuous integration, regression testing, release packaging, and issue tracking.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation, example material, test plans, release notes, and user guides for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Provide technical guidance by mentoring colleagues, reviewing design/code quality, enforcing standards, and evolving team methodologies.
  • Maintain active collaboration with MathWorks to leverage cutting-edge MATLAB and Simulink functionalities for ADI's needs.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Minimum five years of professional background in MATLAB and Simulink model development.
  • Solid expertise in model-based design, systems engineering fundamentals, and requirements-driven development processes.
  • Proven experience converting hardware characteristics or system specifications into maintainable and testable simulation models.
  • Proficiency in model verification techniques, debugging, and correlation with benchmark data or expected outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering practices such as version control, code reviews, thorough testing, and detailed technical documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaborative skills for effective cross-team interaction.

Preferred Experience

  • Seven or more years specializing in Simulink model creation and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with GitHub including branching strategies, pull requests, code evaluation, issue management, GitHub Actions, and release workflows.
  • Experience implementing continuous integration and automated regression testing in MATLAB or Simulink environments.
  • Knowledge of Simulink tools such as Simulink Test, Simulink Check, Requirements Toolbox, Model Advisor, or similar quality and verification utilities.
  • Domain experience modeling semiconductor devices, mixed-signal systems, sensors, power electronics, motor control systems, audio, RF, or communications technologies.
  • Experience with model packaging, managing dependencies, reusable libraries, and delivering customer-oriented model solutions.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead technical initiatives across teams.

What We Offer

  • Engaging, high-impact work aligning semiconductor hardware, software, and system-level simulation.
  • Collaborative environment with expert modeling engineers, product teams, customers, and industry alliances.
  • Opportunities to influence modeling standards, automation strategies, and reusable engineering workflows across the company.
  • Flexible hybrid workplace model, growth prospects, and supportive culture for engineering professionals.
