About the Role and Organization
The Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) division in Instrumentation delivers top-tier solutions for production testing of complex electrical and electronic systems, from high-speed microprocessors to high-voltage electric vehicle battery modules. Collaborating closely with customers, this group pioneers advancements in accuracy, energy efficiency, test duration, and channel density to elevate ATE technology.
In the capacity of Lead Designer, Layout, you will hold a senior technical role, addressing the most demanding analog IC layout challenges. The role demands innovative, expert analysis and solutions while acting as a strategic technical leader influencing broad organizational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete layout processes for complex IC blocks including scheduling, floor planning, verification, and tapeout.
- Devise solutions for intricate technical challenges requiring specialized knowledge and thorough analysis.
- Serve as the principal technical resource and mentor for junior engineers.
- Lead teams and oversee high-impact projects aligned with business objectives.
- Drive technical excellence through cross-organizational collaboration.
- Make critical architectural decisions affecting product development direction.
- Conduct advanced process evaluations and optimize IC layouts to improve performance.
- Establish and promote layout methodologies and best practices to enhance team effectiveness.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced technical leadership with recognized organizational influence.
- Expertise in IC layout, architecture design, and process evaluation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within global, creative, and cooperative environments.
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative layout methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Seven or more years of relevant experience in IC layout and design.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso and strong VXL skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of LVS, DRC, antenna checks, and related verification and debugging methods.
