Job Overview

The Defect Reduction Engineer will focus on the creation and maintenance of integrated defect monitoring systems within semiconductor production at Intel. These monitors are critical to achieving top-tier yield quality for Intel's clientele.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple integrated defect monitoring systems simultaneously.
  • Identify and resolve problems using statistical techniques and analytical tools, devising strategies to avoid recurrence.
  • Address complex technical issues through troubleshooting and scalable solution design.
  • Enhance equipment performance and optimize processing recipes through both corrective actions and innovation.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at continuous operational improvements within the team and broader organization.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a Level 8 (NFQ) or higher degree in Science or Engineering disciplines such as Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Mechatronics, Biomedical, Nanotechnology, Mathematics, or related fields.

  • At least 4 years of engineering-related experience.
  • Proficient analytical problem-solving skills with independence and ownership ability.
  • Experienced in data analysis, including statistical analysis and visualization tools like JMP or similar software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse, multicultural, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications include experience within semiconductor, pharmaceutical, biomedical, medical device, or advanced manufacturing environments. Candidates should exhibit keen attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and strong organizational and planning capabilities.

Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes such as diffusion, etching, plating, lithography, and thin-film deposition is advantageous.
