Senior Signal Integrity Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer, you will be instrumental in advancing signal integrity design for both new and established interconnect solutions. Your expertise will contribute to high-speed digital testing, simulation, characterization, and electrical design innovations, supporting Molex's leadership in high-speed interconnect technology. This position allows you to impact product development directly, engage with global clients, and participate in forward-thinking R&D projects.

Team Environment

Joining the DSS division's Singapore engineering team, you will report to the Director of Engineering. The team works collaboratively across Product Design, Sales & Marketing, and international partners to provide innovative interconnect solutions across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform finite element method simulations focused on electro-mechanical interconnects.
• Develop mathematical models and derivations for electro-mechanical parameters.
• Characterize high-speed connectors and systems using advanced digital testing and electromagnetic simulation techniques.
• Create empirical and analytical electrical test protocols and specifications.
• Design and build test fixtures, characterization boards, and customer verification boards.
• Partner with PCB design firms and external collaborators to fulfill characterization needs.
• Prepare evaluation and qualification documentation and presentations for internal teams and customers.
• Offer expert advice on signal integrity to Marketing, Sales, and client stakeholders.
• Lead R&D initiatives in advanced electrical design technologies.
• Develop mitigation strategies for EMI, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and CFD challenges in interconnect systems.
• Collaborate with clients on applications involving high-speed serial I/O, backplane, board-to-board, and channel interconnections.
• Execute additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in electrical and signal integrity design.
• Strong foundational knowledge of electromagnetics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Physics.
• Proven experience in designing and supporting high-speed electrical interconnects.
• Practical use of CAD/CAE tools including HFSS, CST, FDTD, MoM, Sigrity PowerSI, ADS, and Cadence.
• Hands-on experience aligning simulation data with lab testing using oscilloscopes, TDRs, and VNAs.
• Capability to script and automate analysis workflows.
