Job description

About the Role

We seek a Quality Inspector specializing in assembly to uphold our product quality standards at Molex by meticulously inspecting assemblies, components, and materials. Your responsibilities will include conducting in-process and final inspections, verifying workmanship and operational standards, and aiding quality control functions for smooth, dependable manufacturing processes.

Team Environment

You will join the DSS division collaborating closely with design engineers, production teams, process engineers, and quality personnel to ensure stringent quality compliance and drive continuous enhancements at our Singapore facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute in-process (IPQC) and final (FGA) inspections following established plans and instructions.
  • Assess workmanship, cosmetic appearance, dimensional measures, and functional aspects of assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Ensure proper use of materials, components, labels, and packaging during assembly stages.
  • Operate precision measuring instruments including OGP/View, vernier calipers, micrometers, dial and go/no-go gauges.
  • Maintain proper care, handling, and calibration for inspection equipment.
  • Identify, isolate, and document products that do not conform; initiate inspection test reports (ITRs) per procedure.
  • Accurately log inspection outcomes in checklists and EQC systems to maintain audit trails.
  • Assist in Material Review Board (MRB) activities by providing data and inspection insights.
  • Report recurring defects and engage in containment, sorting, and re-inspection efforts.
  • Contribute to quality initiatives and 5S/continuous improvement programs.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary education or equivalent.
  • Training in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Operators’ Certification.
  • At least three years’ experience in quality inspection within electronics manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in parts inspection techniques.
  • Ability to operate advanced measuring equipment such as OGP and TM scopes.
  • Experience conducting quality assurance inspections.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Basic monthly salary starting at SGD 950 (++).

  • Multiple shift patterns including 9-hour and 12-hour shifts, with specific morning, afternoon, and night shifts as per schedule.

  • Shift allowances and overtime pay vary by schedule and management decisions; average monthly overtime approximately 60 hours with specified calculation methods.
  • Uniforms provided where necessary.

Work Regulations

  • Employees must be at least 18 years old.
  • Working hours must not exceed 12 hours per day or 60 hours weekly.

  • A typical workweek runs Monday to Sunday, with Saturday as an off day and Sunday as a rest day, except for certain shift schedules where rest and off days align with the specific roster.
