Work Inspector - Structural

Job Overview

Join the WSP Middle East team as a Work Inspector focusing on structural projects supporting Ashghal infrastructure initiatives in Doha, Qatar. This role involves on-site inspections to verify that structural construction aligns with approved designs, project requirements, and rigorous quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed inspections of structural components including foundations, columns, beams, and related elements.
• Verify that work complies with approved drawings, project specifications, and standards mandated by Ashghal.
• Detect and document deviations or non-compliant work during construction.
• Communicate findings promptly and suggest corrective measures to the project team.
• Maintain comprehensive records and reports of all inspection activities.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to address construction inquiries.
• Perform routine site visits to assess progress and quality control.
• Ensure that health and safety protocols are strictly observed during construction.
• Contribute to the creation and execution of quality assurance plans.
• Keep abreast of evolving industry regulations and best practices concerning structural works.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least 15 years of proven experience in structural inspection or supervisory roles in construction.
• Comprehensive understanding of structural design principles and acceptable construction methods.
• Familiarity with Ashghal standards and quality control requirements.
• Skilled in the use of technical inspection instruments and tools.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and detailed specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal aptitude.
• Keen attention to detail with a dedication to upholding quality standards.
• Capability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving project environment.
• Mandatory possession of a valid driving license and readiness to travel within Qatar as project needs arise.
