Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate comprehensive electrical designs for transmission lines covering aspects such as conductor dimensioning, insulator choice, tower setup, and grounding schemes.
• Utilize power system analysis software to perform load flow, short circuit, and stability assessments.
• Conduct thorough technical assessments of electrical equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, and protection systems for lines.
• Ensure all designs and processes comply with regional standards, particularly DEWA and TAQA requirements.
• Support site surveys, determine optimal routing, and conduct feasibility studies for transmission lines.
• Oversee and inspect the installation phases of transmission line elements to guarantee adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Participate in testing and commissioning procedures such as insulation resistance tests, earth resistance measurements, and line energization.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation including reports, drawings, material submissions, and method statements.
• Liaise professionally with clients, consultants, and government regulatory bodies as necessary.
• Coordinate procurement efforts to ensure timely acquisition of needed equipment and materials.

Job Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Have 3 to 5 years of experience working on transmission line projects, preferably with 132kV systems or above.
• Be familiar with substation interfacing and possess a solid understanding of transmission line standards and electrical grid codes.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills and work well within team settings.
• Be adaptable to work both in office settings and on field locations.
