Senior Principal Foundry Engineer - Logic/RF Process Integration

Position Overview

This role is part of the APAC Central Competence Team at NXP Semiconductors, focused on working closely with external foundries to guarantee a reliable chip supply for the company's various business units.

Key Responsibilities

• Directly manage the ramp-up of lead products during new technology introductions (NTI), foundry process transfers, and enabling new fabrication facilities.
• Collaborate extensively with foundries, NXP technology groups, business lines, and other stakeholders to qualify and approve production processes.
• Own the front-end process safe launch, working hand-in-hand with foundries during the ramp-up phase to promote manufacturability and enhance yield rates.
• Interface professionally with key customers on critical project work.
• Lead and guide projects to timely completion, ensuring alignment with NXP’s business priorities.
• Serve as the primary decision-maker on matters related to process integration, balancing technical decisions, resource allocation, project timelines, logistics, and supplier relations.
• Manage NTI process transfers both within foundries and in collaboration with NXP joint ventures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering.
• Over 10 years of experience in front-end IC process integration, preferably within foundry production or development environments.
• Comprehensive expertise in integrated circuit devices and processes; familiarity with FinFET and RF technologies is advantageous.
• Strong grasp of yield improvement methodologies and data analytics.
• Proficiency in both English and Mandarin languages.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in team management, development and transfer projects, or production ramp-ups.
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence discussions and decisions.
• Proactive, innovative, pragmatic, business-minded, and results-oriented working style.
• Experience in managing or collaborating with foundries to optimize leverage and outcomes.
