Role Overview

We invite an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our Jeddah, Saudi Arabia office to lead commercial excellence in major infrastructure and development programs. This pivotal leadership position involves managing high-value contractual matters, driving strategic financial decisions, and mentoring teams to foster commercial diligence and financial discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough financial reviews on projects to uncover risks, assess performance, and recommend mitigation actions to uphold margins.
• Oversee cost control processes by monitoring cash flows, expenditures, and ensuring alignment with budgetary confines while maintaining quality.
• Lead the deployment and monitoring of Earned Value Management methodologies across projects, providing teams with performance measurement best practices.
• Collaborate with project teams to prevent margin erosion, identify profitability opportunities, and implement corrective measures.
• Support optimization of working capital by managing work in progress, accounts receivable, billings, and cash collection cycles.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage commercial risks and opportunities proactively throughout project lifecycles.
• Analyze project scope changes, designs, and progress to establish entitlement for variations and claims, preparing evidence-based submissions to clients.
• Advise project teams during contract bidding to secure advantageous terms aligned with organizational goals.
• Champion commercial education across teams by training on risk, scope, and financial drivers; continuously support interpretation of contract terms.
• Act as a commercial liaison among project, finance, legal teams, and senior leadership to ensure smooth operations and project success.
• Deliver insightful commercial reporting and strategic advice to regional leaders on key projects and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related discipline.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience within infrastructure, engineering consultancy, or commercial project management.
• Minimum 7 years in senior commercial managerial roles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of contract structures and commercial management best practices.
• Expertise managing large-scale infrastructure or development projects and conducting forensic analysis of delays and entitlements.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Proven skills in cost control, cash flow assessment, financial risk mitigation, claims management, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.
• Experience collaborating with governmental bodies, major clients, or statutory agencies.
• Proficiency in applying Earned Value Management and financial project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership or chartership in professional bodies such as MRICS or MICE.
• Familiarity with infrastructure projects within the Middle East or GCC region and Saudi local regulations.
• Experience working in multicultural, international environments.
• Arabic language skills.
• Proven leadership in mentoring commercial teams and driving organizational change through best practices.
• Experience with ERP and project management software systems.
