Job description

Role Overview

As a Quality Inspector focusing on New Product Introduction (NPI), you will conduct thorough quality evaluations of products and components to verify conformity with specifications and quality benchmarks.

Team Environment

Join Molex Singapore's dedicated Quality team and contribute directly to NPI projects through collaboration with production, engineering, and quality colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out in-process and final inspections for assembly products according to predefined inspection and control plans as well as work instructions.
  • Assess workmanship, appearance, dimensional accuracy, and functional quality of parts and assemblies.
  • Use basic measuring instruments such as microscopes, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual inspection tools.
  • Identify and isolate non-conforming products, reporting findings per established quality protocols.
  • Accurately document inspection outcomes and maintain quality records for auditing and traceability purposes.
  • Assist in quality enhancement initiatives, containment efforts, and sample re-inspections as needed.
  • Provide constructive feedback concerning repeat defects or process issues to facilitate continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum completion of secondary education or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in quality inspection, preferably within electronics or manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with parts inspection procedures and usage of inspection tools.
  • Ability to adhere strictly to quality procedures, inspection plans, and work instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating OGP SmartScope or similar measurement systems.
  • Previous involvement with NPI or assembly quality inspection processes.
  • Training in Statistical Process Control (SPC) or operator certification courses.

Compensation Details

  • Fixed basic salary: SGD 950
  • Transport allowance (variable): SGD 70
  • Attendance bonus (variable): SGD 50

Contract and Working Conditions

  • Permanent employment with shift rotation required.
  • Five working days per week.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
  • Strict adherence to work limits: no more than 12 hours per day, 60 hours per week, or 6 consecutive working days.
  • Multiple shift patterns available, including 9-hour shifts (single, 2- or 3-rotating shifts) and 12-hour rotating shifts with defined morning, afternoon, and night schedules.
  • Sunday designated as rest day; specific rest and off days vary depending on shift schedule.

Leave and Benefits

  • Eleven paid public holidays annually including New Year's Day, Chinese New Year (2 days), Hari Raya Puasa, Good Friday, Labour Day, Hari Raya Haji, Vesak Day, National Day, Deepavali, and Christmas Day.
  • Shift allowances and overtime payable according to shift schedule and management discretion with average overtime of 60 hours monthly.
  • Overtime rates calculated as 1.5 times for regular hours and double time for public holidays and rest days.
  • Annual leave entitlement based on service length: up to 10 days for under 4 years, increasing to 16 days beyond 10 years.
  • Employees may return to home country during approved leaves without penalty or loss of benefits.

  • Salary subject to statutory deductions such as Central Provident Fund contributions.
