Role Overview

This full-time Quality Control position is based at the RX Plastics facility in Ashburton, New Zealand. The role entails a hands-on approach within a production environment, balancing laboratory testing with active participation on the manufacturing floor. As part of your responsibilities, you will handle product sampling, inspections, and quality verifications to uphold product standards and compliance.

The position operates on a permanent night shift schedule from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday night through Saturday morning.

Key Responsibilities

• Document and maintain Quality Control (QC) records utilizing company systems.
• Conduct quality control tests, inspections, and assessments ensuring conformance to international, national, and internal company standards.
• Share testing outcomes with relevant departments promptly.
• Perform regular quality checks during shifts to guarantee product uniformity and compliance.
• Collect and inspect product samples throughout the manufacturing process.
• Report quality concerns and collaborate with Production to address issues.
• Assist in maintaining quality management systems and prepare for audits.
• Investigate customer complaints and evaluate warehouse stock as needed for quality investigations.
• Coordinate closely with production and operations teams to sustain product quality.
• Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Identify and report Health & Safety risks proactively, working with stakeholders to preserve a safe workplace.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or similar production roles.
• At least five years of experience related to quality control or manufacturing environments.
• Possession of a Certificate or Diploma in Quality Assurance or a related discipline.
• Strong numerical aptitude with accurate record-keeping skills; knowledge of ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems preferred.
• Keen attention to detail combined with a proactive mindset towards resolving quality issues and enhancing processes.
• Effective written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of quality standards, compliance protocols, and continuous improvement methods.
