Role Overview

We seek a Maintenance Fitter to join a close-knit maintenance team at our Dynex manufacturing facility in Avondale. The role involves working Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with responsibilities focused on ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and reliability of plant and equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical maintenance and repairs, including preventive maintenance tasks.
• Handle hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance and repairs.
• Support welding efforts (MIG, TIG, stick) and machining activities; welding is preferable but not mandatory.
• Respond to breakdown call-outs as needed.
• Manage spare parts procurement through store requisitions.
• Collaborate with electrical staff to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Contribute to capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain daily job records using CMMS systems, specifically MEX.
• Strictly adhere to all occupational health and safety regulations and procedures.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified at Trade Certificate Level 4 in Fitting and Turning or with dual trade qualifications preferred.
• Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance fitting within manufacturing, plastics, FMCG, or heavy industry sectors.
• Preferably experienced with extrusion processes, water treatment plants, raw materials handling, granulation, pumps, and related equipment.
• Hands-on, flexible approach with willingness to be on-call for emergency breakdowns.
• Strong team communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven track record in mechanical maintenance activities including annual shutdowns and breakdown responses.
• Computer literate, familiar with CMMS platforms; MEX system experience advantageous.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively under time constraints.
• Holds a valid driver's license and has access to personal transportation.
• Possession of EWP, White Card, and Forklift licenses is a plus.
• Must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident with full work rights.
