Role Summary

The Territory Manager position involves leading sales efforts for the Electrical product line in Central Auckland, North Auckland, and Northland. This role requires developing and nurturing strong relationships with electrical wholesalers, contractors, and key stakeholders to enhance market share and achieve sales goals. It suits individuals who thrive independently in field roles and value building trusted customer partnerships, ideal for experienced sales professionals or electricians transitioning into sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and sustain robust relationships with wholesalers, end users, and stakeholders by providing prompt, solution-oriented responses and managing sales queries.
  • Seek out, cultivate, and secure new business within the assigned territory.
  • Deliver expert product knowledge, technical guidance, training, and customer support to optimize solution offerings.
  • Maintain and grow the customer base through regular visits, account management, opportunity detection, and project facilitation from specification through to completion.
  • Execute regular customer engagements and develop territory plans aligned with regional sales objectives.
  • Utilize sales analytics, market trends, and customer feedback to enhance sales strategies and territory outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent, timely service and support for customers.
  • Meet or exceed set sales targets contributing to overall business goals.
  • Keep accurate and current records in CRM systems, documenting customer interactions, opportunities, and planning.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols and responsibly manage company assets such as vehicles and equipment.

Candidate Profile

  • 3 to 5 years' track record in territory sales and account management, preferably in Electrical, Manufacturing, or allied sectors.
  • Electrical trades professionals with strong technical knowledge and communication skills seeking a sales career transition.
  • Experience in project sales with abilities to identify opportunities, influence product specifications, and convert projects through stakeholder collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills aligned with representing the Marley brand and value proposition.
  • Proven capacity to operate autonomously within a regional territory, while maintaining teamwork and collaboration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of managing accounts balancing new business development with ongoing customer support.
  • Highly driven, persuasive, and commercially focused with results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and administrative proficiency featuring meticulous attention to detail.
  • Technical aptitude and eagerness to learn new products, systems, and workflows.
  • Valid New Zealand driver’s license and either NZ Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
