Project Control Manager

About the Role

An international engineering consultancy is seeking a seasoned Project Controls Manager for a significant Cargo Terminal and International Airport project located in East Africa. The successful candidate will take charge of project controls, overseeing planning, scheduling, cost management, progress tracking, reporting, and performance evaluation throughout the project's duration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the project controls department across the entire project.
• Develop and sustain comprehensive project schedules, baselines, and progress tracking systems.
• Continuously monitor project milestones, progress, and key outputs.
• Supervise cost control measures, including forecasting and budget tracking.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to spot scheduling and cost-related risks.
• Produce and review regular reports, dashboards, and analyses related to project controls.
• Manage change control procedures and evaluate change impacts on both cost and scheduling.
• Identify possible project delays, emerging trends, and risks, providing mitigation recommendations.
• Ensure seamless coordination among planning, cost control, commercial, and project management units.
• Offer expert advice on project controls and report to senior management and clients.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a recognized degree in Project Management, Program Management, or allied fields.
• Be a member of a relevant professional body.
• Have at least a decade of professional experience working on large international airport projects.
• Experience within operational airport settings is highly desirable.
• At least five years’ experience in a project controls management role.
• Strong expertise in planning, scheduling, cost management, risk and change management, and project reporting.
• Demonstrated success in managing project controls for sizable and complex projects.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Proficient with project control software and Microsoft Office tools.
