Project Manager – Cyber Security

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to join the Project Management Office within a dynamic technology services company. This is a prime opportunity for a goal-oriented Project Manager possessing at least five years of relevant experience in managing projects related to networking, telecommunications, cyber security, or managed IT services.

The selected candidate will oversee the entire project lifecycle including initial requirements gathering, project scoping, delivery, customer acceptance, and transition to Support, Managed Services, and Security Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers, internal technical teams, commercial stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners to manage multiple projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Handle projects ranging from preliminary proofs of concept to intricate, multi-phase, multi-site technology deployments.
• Gather requirements and clearly define project scope.
• Develop comprehensive project plans and detailed Work Breakdown Structures.
• Decompose complex requirements into smaller, manageable workstreams.
• Assist with bid management and contribute to bid submissions.
• Plan all phases of project delivery thoroughly.
• Implement effective project governance and control mechanisms.
• Maintain and update project documentation, reporting, and tools.
• Identify, analyze, and manage project risks.
• Administer budgets, allocate resources, handle dependencies, and track timelines.
• Control project scope and manage change requests appropriately.
• Resolve project challenges and maintain accountability for actions.
• Develop and maintain stakeholder communication and engagement plans.
• Coordinate technical, commercial, and operational teams.
• Manage third-party vendors and delivery partners.
• Report project progress, performance metrics, and milestones.
• Devise practical solutions for complex delivery issues.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships at all levels throughout the project.
• Ensure seamless handover into support and managed service environments.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum five years of project management experience in relevant sectors.
• Proven track record delivering projects in networking, telecommunications, cyber security, infrastructure, or managed services.
• Capability to handle projects across the full delivery lifecycle.
• Strong skills in customer and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience managing budgets, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated influence, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
• Competence in managing multiple simultaneous projects.
• Methodical and structured approach with keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within delivery teams.
• Possession of a full UK driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner or a similarly recognized project management qualification.
• Degree or equivalent professional experience is advantageous.
