Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer specializing in Piping Stress to join our Gandhinagar team. This role reports directly to the Head of Department – Piping and involves leading critical stress analysis activities for complex piping systems within major projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive stress calculations for complex and critical piping networks.
- Perform and review detailed stress analyses on piping systems linked to essential rotating equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, tanks, turbines, and air coolers, utilizing Caesar II software.
- Issue piping load data to civil and structural engineering teams for pipe-rack and related structural design.
- Design and oversee all piping support components.
- Review client technical documentation and ensure compliance with requirements.
- Prepare piping stress specifications and identify critical piping lines.
- Develop technical specifications for procurement requisitions concerning piping support components needed from stress analyses.
- Review and verify stress and piping support documents prepared by subcontractors.
- Check isometric drawings issued for construction to confirm compliance with stress and support standards.
- Evaluate stress results, including displacement, stress ranges, and pipe support loads.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Fluency in English required.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with ASME, API, NEMA, TEMA, ASTM, IS codes, and PMC standards.
- Proven expertise in stress analysis of piping connected to various equipment types including columns, tanks, heat exchangers, pumps, and compressors.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
