About the Role
The Operations Supervisor at Stryker Macroom leads a production team with a strong focus on achieving quality, service, cost, and people development targets. This position offers two shift options—morning or evening—with shift allowances applicable. The supervisor drives continuous improvement by applying leadership skills to foster employee engagement and maintain high-performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee production teams to meet KPIs covering quality, service, costs, and staff development.
- Communicate and enforce quality standards including rework, scrap management, line clearance, QA audits, and shutdown procedures.
- Plan and prioritize production schedules to fulfill customer demands and control inventory levels.
- Provide comprehensive training, coaching, and feedback to set up teams and individuals for success.
- Create a positive work environment ensuring high engagement across the production and cross-functional teams.
- Deliver constructive and timely performance feedback, handling issues fairly and respectfully.
- Encourage open communication via weekly meetings and daily line interactions to optimize productivity.
- Collaborate with training departments to develop training programs and team improvement plans.
- Take part in recruitment and selection of production operators.
- Maintain excellent GMP and 6S standards involving all team members.
- Drive or contribute to Lean manufacturing and cost reduction initiatives.
- Manage compliance with Time and Attendance systems and oversee vacation and overtime scheduling.
- Lead efforts to advance Lean Manufacturing principles within the team.
- Perform additional assigned duties as required.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a degree or master’s in Business, Production Management, Engineering, or related field, or possesses equivalent practical experience.
- At least four years of manufacturing experience, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory role.
- Broad knowledge of standard production environment principles, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while seeking guidance on complex matters.
- Proven leadership skills to guide, inspire and collaborate within a cross-functional team.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Familiarity with GMP/FDA regulations, housekeeping, and health and safety standards.
- Committed to people development and fostering a motivating team environment.
- Skilled in coaching, performance management, and delivering effective feedback.
- Experience applying problem-solving methodologies and operational process knowledge.
- Capacity to analyze information effectively and convert it into actionable operational strategies.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
Compensation and Additional Information
The salary for this position ranges approximately from €57,000 to €94,000 annually. Apart from the base pay, eligible candidates may receive incentive pay such as bonuses or commissions in accordance with company policies. Stryker offers a comprehensive benefits package to support its employees.
