Role Overview
The position is for a Regional Manager responsible for overseeing Stryker's Joint Replacement business throughout New Zealand. This is a national leadership role requiring residence anywhere in New Zealand with convenient access to a major airport for regular travel.
The successful candidate will manage commercial growth, foster clinical partnerships, and lead a team of 10 sales professionals (comprising 3 Associate Territory Managers and 7 Territory Managers) across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve regional targets for revenue growth, profitability, and market share across the Joint Replacement segment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10 sales staff by managing performance metrics and sales capabilities nationwide.
- Implement sales strategies aligned with surgeon preferences, hospital needs, and overall portfolio goals.
- Establish and maintain strong, enduring relationships with orthopaedic surgeons, surgical teams, and hospital decision-makers.
- Oversee accurate forecasting, territory planning, inventory management, and service coverage nationally.
- Lead the successful execution of product launches, portfolio updates, and product recalls with professionalism.
- Continuously monitor competitor activity, pricing, and procedural trends to shape strategic initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least five years of experience in sales of implantable medical devices.
- Minimum two years in people leadership or sales management roles.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business, science, healthcare, or related fields.
- Possession of a valid New Zealand driver’s license.
- Preferred experience includes joint replacement or reconstructive orthopaedics, managing hospital accounts in both public and private sectors, and familiarity with regulated medical technology environments.
