Your Role

As a NIA Solution Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and delivering comprehensive technical solutions that align with One New Zealand’s Network Intelligence and Automation roadmap and support Autonomous Network Architecture initiatives. You will transform business and product demands into practical, scalable, secure, and commercially viable solution designs that encourage intelligent, data-driven network operations, automation, and service innovation from conceptualization through to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Craft and implement technical solutions in support of the NIA roadmap, product platforms, and services.
• Translate comprehensive business, product, and technical requirements into detailed solution designs and specifications.
• Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise architecture frameworks, technology roadmaps, and security protocols.
• Lead technical processes during implementation, integration, and prepare for operational readiness.
• Collaborate with intersecting teams such as Product, Engineering, Operations, Architecture, and external vendors to deliver scalable, robust solutions.
• Design system integrations spanning OSS/BSS platforms, various network domains, APIs, and automation frameworks.
• Create reusable components for automation, integration models, and standardized platform practices.
• Identify, assess, and manage technical risks, issues, and dependencies throughout solution delivery.
• Incorporate features ensuring performance, resilience, security, observability, and operational efficiency into solution architectures.
• Maintain ownership of solutions from inception to successful go-live and aid in achieving strategic business outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrable experience as a Solution Engineer, Technical Lead or Solution Designer within complex technology environments.
• Track record of delivery excellence in telecoms, encompassing OSS/BSS, network solutions, or automation projects.
• In-depth expertise in comprehensive end-to-end solution design, including platforms, APIs, system integrations, and data flow management.
• Practical knowledge of OSS platforms covering orchestration, assurance, fulfillment, or service operations.
• Understanding of telecommunications architecture and integration between OSS/BSS systems.
• Familiarity with 4G and 5G technologies alongside cloud-native network functions.
• Experience with API-led, event-driven, and contemporary digital architectures.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Ansible, Kubernetes, Kafka, Camunda, and TM Forum Open APIs.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, influencing, and facilitation abilities.
• Proficient in Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Utilization of automation, scripting, or AI technologies to enhance engineering effectiveness.
