Azure Solution Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Azure Solutions Architect to lead and design enterprise-level cloud transformation projects. This role demands strong proficiency in Azure Landing Zones, cloud migration strategies, Azure networking and security, infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, and governance frameworks to guide cloud adoption and modernization.

Key Duties

• Architect and manage large-scale Azure Landing Zones consistent with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework principles.
• Lead migration of on-premises workloads to Azure using 6R migration methodologies.
• Create scalable, secure Azure environments covering areas like compute, networking, identity management, security, and platform-as-a-service components.
• Develop Hub-Spoke network architectures, and configure connectivity solutions such as ExpressRoute, VPN, Azure Firewall, Private Endpoints, and Application Gateway.
• Leverage Infrastructure as Code practices utilizing Terraform, Bicep, and ARM template technologies.
• Implement governance via Azure Management Groups, Policy, Role-Based Access Control, tagging strategies, and subscription management.
• Design security architectures aligned with Zero Trust principles incorporating Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Privileged Identity Management, and network segmentation.
• Establish high availability and disaster recovery plans including RTO/RPO goals, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Backup solutions.
• Execute cloud financial operations including cost optimization through rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and cost governance mechanisms.
• Create high-level and low-level design documentation, reference architectures, and technical design artifacts.
• Collaborate with various domain experts across infrastructure, security, application, DevOps, and business to ensure successful cloud transformation programs.
• Provide ongoing technical leadership and governance through all phases of cloud migration and modernization.

Required Expertise

• Minimum 10 years of IT experience with significant focus on Azure architecture.
• Deep knowledge and practical experience with Azure Landing Zones and Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework.
• Proven background in Azure cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Hands-on skills in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking technologies including Virtual Networks, Hub-Spoke topology, ExpressRoute, VPN, Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, User Defined Routes, and Private Endpoints.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Azure security components such as Entra ID, RBAC, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, and Zero Trust security models.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and continuous integration/continuous deployment processes.
• Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery planning and implementation including Azure Site Recovery and RTO/RPO metrics.
• Expertise in FinOps and cost management for Azure environments.
• Excellent skills in generating architecture documents (HLD/LLD) and managing stakeholder communications.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-500, or AZ-700.
• Experience with Bicep and ARM templates for infrastructure automation.
• Exposure to modern Azure PaaS technologies including Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, App Service, and Azure OpenAI services.
• Prior involvement in large enterprise-scale cloud migration projects.
