Mechanical Design Engineer – Creo Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer experienced with Creo to design and detail sheet metal parts and weldment assemblies typically used in genset, sheet metal, and casting enclosures. The role involves creating 3D models, fabrication and assembly drawings, and detailed engineering documentation to support manufacturing and product lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design sheet metal components and weldment assemblies for enclosures used in heavy equipment and industrial applications.
• Create and develop 3D CAD models, associated fabrication and assembly drawings, as well as manufacturing documents utilizing Creo software.
• Produce comprehensive engineering drawings incorporating GD&T, tolerance specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and weld instructions.
• Ensure enclosure structures meet requirements for strength, manufacturability, maintenance, and cost efficiency.
• Prepare and manage engineering changes through Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
• Use Teamcenter PLM system for managing product data, revisions, and document controls.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality assurance, and cross-functional teams to resolve design and production-related challenges.
• Support prototype building, testing, validation, and implementation of design enhancements.
• Manage material master records, BOMs, and engineering data through SAP system.
• Maintain updated technical documentation, engineering reports, and records.
• Engage in design reviews, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Provide technical assistance to production teams, supplier development, and address field engineering issues.

Experience and Tools

• Proficient with Creo Parametric for 3D modeling, sheet metal design, weldments, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
• Experienced in Teamcenter for product lifecycle and document management.
• Familiar with SAP for BOM management, material master data, and engineering data upkeep.
• Skilled in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and detailing requirements.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and BOM upkeep.
• In-depth knowledge of sheet metal fabrication methods, welding techniques, and manufacturing processes.
• Competent with GD&T principles, tolerance stack-up analysis, and adherence to engineering drawing standards.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with backgrounds in mining, oil and gas, industrial equipment manufacturing, or heavy machinery sectors are favored.

Education and Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in any engineering discipline to be eligible.
