Role Overview
This permanent position involves working 80 hours across each fortnight, during weekdays at Royston Hospital. As a Loan Equipment Assistant, you will be instrumental in maintaining the smooth operation of the Theatre Department. Your key responsibilities include managing the logistics and documentation of loan equipment, implants, and surgical instruments to ensure timely readiness for surgical lists.
Core Responsibilities
- Managing the dispatch, receipt, systematic tracking, and accurate documentation of loan equipment sets.
- Communicating effectively with suppliers and external companies regarding loan equipment and prosthesis needs ahead of theatre schedules.
- Maintaining precise and updated electronic records and databases for loan equipment.
- Overseeing long-term loans of equipment and prosthesis, including monitoring stock quantities and expiration dates.
- Tracking surgical instruments and equipment requiring repair or maintenance and ensuring their prompt return.
- Participating in quality, audit, and continuous improvement activities within the department.
- Collaborating closely with theatre staff and other hospital departments to facilitate smooth and delay-free surgical lists.
