Role Overview
- Deliver antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care effectively.
- Collaborate with women and their Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs) to ensure continuous, cohesive care aligned with Birthcare's Vision and Values.
- Uphold high standards of patient care meeting legislative and professional standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and quality initiatives alongside LMCs and fellow midwives.
- Utilize strong communication skills and serve as a resource for specialized expertise when needed.
- Manage patient safety by assessing risks and potential complications vigilantly.
- Follow care plans provided by LMCs and inform mothers and families to promote optimal health outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
- Current registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and a valid annual practice certificate.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or completion of hospital-based midwifery training.
- Prior midwifery or LMC experience is essential.
- Ability to maintain high service standards under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Professionalism combined with keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible, rostered, and rotating shifts.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Cultural and social sensitivity in diverse situations.
