Assistant Engineering Manager

Position Overview

The Assistant Engineering Manager is responsible for the installation, upkeep, preventive maintenance, and management of tools, appliances, and equipment. They calibrate controls, gauges, and meters and are proficient with all shut-off valves. Inventory management including ordering, marking, and stocking parts and supplies is essential. The role requires the inspection of tools, equipment, and machines along with data entry and retrieval using computers. Operation of power lifts and completion of safety checklists such as fire pump and generator tests, plus inspections of fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems, are core tasks. The position also involves assisting in the development of disaster response procedures and addressing guest repair needs promptly.

Leadership and Team Management

This role supports management in recruiting, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating staff. Following all company, safety, and security guidelines is mandatory, including timely reporting of maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, and injuries, as well as completing safety training and certifications. Maintaining a professional appearance, confidentiality, and excellent guest relations consistent with company standards is required. The Assistant Engineering Manager promotes teamwork to achieve organizational objectives and addresses employee concerns constructively. They are expected to uphold quality standards and contribute ideas to improve efficiency, productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Clear and professional communication is a key aspect of this role.

Physical Requirements

The position involves regular physical activities like inspecting tools and equipment, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds without help, and walking or standing for long durations. Navigating stairs and service ramps is also expected.

Additional Job Duties

The Assistant Engineering Manager may be assigned other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education from a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• No specific license or certification is required.
